Job summary

Condé Nast's Bon Appétit Test Kitchen seeks a Senior Test Kitchen Editor to conceive, develop and execute cross‑platform recipes and storytelling across print, digital, and video. You will collaborate with contributors and chefs, guide junior team members, and ensure editorial standards from ideation to publication.

You bring at least 4 years of hands‑on culinary experience and 3+ years in editorial, plus strong analytics, SEO awareness, and on‑camera presence.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of hands-on culinary experience, such as restaurants, test kitchens, and/or social media, plus at least 3 years experience in editorial with demonstrated success in developing and executing multi-platform content.
• Strong editorial judgment and a deep understanding of editorial strategy, from story idea to promotional plan, and how to use analytics and audience insights to refine tactics.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects and deadlines, collaborate on brand tentpoles and engage with creative partners.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills. Experience working on cross-functional teams to execute multi-platform content. Ability to partner effectively with editors, writers, contributors, producers, photographers, food stylists, designers, and more.
• On-camera experience.

Responsibilities

• Engage with all departments to create strategies for successful recipes that balance rich storytelling with business goals of growing audiences and meeting KPIs.
• Set recipe lineups across platforms and columns; oversee all aspects of recipe development and production including assigning, coordinating scheduling, and managing workflows for recipes, from conception to execution and promotion.
• Contribute actionable, timely, and relevant pitches for stories, packages, and recipes.
• Partner with chefs and internal and external contributors to create content that showcases strong brand identity balanced by storyteller point of view.
• Incorporate SEO and audience insights and strategies into content planning and execution; absorb performance reporting and help to refine the team’s output and efforts accordingly.
• Create compelling, impactful recipes, whether they are your own or collaborations with internal or external contributors, that support our brands’ content strategies.
• Participate in promoting your work in video, social media, newsletter programming, media appearances, podcasts, and other platforms.
• Contribute written pieces, such as digital articles and print copy.
• Brainstorm, collaborate, and help solve challenges with the rest of the food team, regardless of story assignment.
• Help develop the talent of junior team members, giving constructive feedback on their work and performance, and fostering a transparent, respectful, inclusive, and collaborative team environment.
