Job description

Moog is hiring a Senior Test Equipment Design Engineer within our Aircraft Group for an onsite position in East Aurora, NY.

Moog Aircraft Group is the worldwide leader of advanced flight controls and actuation for commercial and military aircraft. We are positioned on virtually every aircraft flying today, supplying highly reliable systems that are supportable and add significant value for our customers.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Manager of Product Engineering, you will be responsible for the design, development, troubleshooting, maintenance, and support of test equipment. Products involved include Actuator Control Units (ACU), Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA), and Electronics Boxes; hardware design and programming are also required. You will interface with Quality and Design engineering on manufacturing issues and facilitate the transition of products and test equipment to supply chain. You will oversee product entry into service (EIS) and ensure successful transition of designs to production.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electronic test equipment
  • Create successful transition plans for electronic designs moving into production and supply chain
  • Participate in and assist with supplier training of test equipment and/or provide test equipment requirements to aid in their development at the supplier
  • Lead cross-site efforts of New Product Introduction (NPI) for engineering and test aspects
  • Lead technical problem-solving efforts for complex electronic assemblies to resolve systemic non-conformances, understanding specifications and troubleshooting to root cause
  • Work closely with Quality, Manufacturing, and Test on Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years related experience; Master's degree with 6+ years also accepted
  • Proven capabilities in the technical aspects of test (software & hardware)
  • Proven troubleshooting skills for Electronic Hardware
  • Ability to lead others
  • Proficiency with LabView
  • MS Project, PowerPoint, and Excel skills, including creating complex analyses
  • Strong presentation skills for internal and external audiences
