Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a seasoned test engineer to develop and execute comprehensive test plans for system upgrades and new features. You will perform functional and regression tests on Java-based web apps, review backend logs, and conduct API and database testing against Solr, LDAP and Oracle 19c components.

The role requires strong collaboration with developers, analysts and security teams, plus hands-on experience with Windows Server environments and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Experience performing functional and regression testing of UI web applications.
• Experience writing and executing SQL queries to validate application data.
• Ability to obtain TS/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance (US Citizenship required).

• Manage defect tracking systems and coordinate issue resolution
• Validate compliance with federal cybersecurity requirements
• Ensure adherence to government accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG)
• Test enterprise applications in Windows Server environments
• Verify security controls and data protection measures
• Develop and maintain UI automation frameworks for regression testing
• Integrate automated tests into GitLab CI/CD pipelines
• Test Apache Tomcat application server deployments and configurations
• Validate authentication with backend interaction with LDAP service.
• Validate Oracle 19c database integrations and data flows
• Verify data migration integrity with application to Solr integration.
• Test SAP Business Intelligence reporting interfaces and outputs
• Ensure seamless user experience across the modernized platform

• Ability to Obtain TS/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance which requires US Citizenship
• Extensive experience performing functional and regression testing of UI web applications
• Experience in backend troubleshooting by reviewing application and server logs to determine the cause of an application failure
• Proficiency with defect tracking systems
• Experience writing and executing SQL queries to validate application data
• Experience performing verification of system buildout including installation, configuration, and integration Preferred Qualifications
• Excellent analytical skills and meticulous documentation practices
• Strong collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams in regulated environments
• Knowledge of federal cybersecurity requirements and government accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG)
• Familiarity with Windows Server environments
• Experience testing Apache Tomcat application servers, Oracle 19c databases, and SAP Business Intelligence interfaces
• API testing experience (Apache Solr, RESTful services)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab
• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph (preferred) Required Education and Experience Equivalency
• 18 Years of experience in Software or Systems Engineering roles or a highly related field of work with similar scope and responsibilities.
• A Bachelor's degree may be substituted for 4 years of experience and a Master's Degree may be substituted for 6 years of experience. Required Security Clearance
• Must be eligible to obtain a Top Secret/SCI with CI Polygraph; obtained after hire.
