Job summary

Castelion is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to lead testing activities for solid rocket motors and hypersonic systems. You will develop and execute test plans for static fires, environmental and functional tests, and flight test support while ensuring safety and data quality.

You will work hands-on with propulsion hardware, instrumentation, and data systems, collaborating with propulsion, manufacturing, and design teams to meet aggressive development timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field is required.
• 5 years of engineering test experience for solid rocket motors or equivalent.
• Master’s degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Systems Engineering is preferred.
• Strong hands-on experience with test instrumentation and data acquisition.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of test plans for SRM static fires, environmental testing, and vehicle-level integration.
• Design, commission, and operate test fixtures and data acquisition setups for key parameters.
• Execute tests, monitor data in real-time, analyze results, and perform root-cause investigations.
• Support flight test campaigns including pre-flight checkout and telemetry monitoring.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive test-process improvements.
