Job summary

Castelion is seeking a Propellant Manufacturing Engineer to lead and execute propellant processes for SRMs supporting hypersonic programs. You will develop, scale, and qualify formulation, mixing, casting, curing, and related operations in a high-consequence environment.

You will collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Automation & Controls, and Test teams to meet performance and safety requirements while transitioning from prototype builds to high-rate production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 5+ years of manufacturing or process engineering experience, with 3+ years hands-on work with solid propellants.
• Experience scaling propellant mixing, casting, or similar batch operations in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Own or lead propellant manufacturing processes including mixing, casting, curing, and finishing.
• Develop and improve process parameters, work instructions, and control plans.
• Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and process FMEA activities; drive statistical process control (SPC) and yield improvements.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) by translating propellant formulation and grain design requirements into scalable manufacturing processes.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions for process deviations, defects, or quality issues.
