Job summary

Castelion is seeking an R&D Technician to support hands-on solid rocket motor (SRM) manufacturing and testing operations at Castelion's development site. You will work with engineers and operations leadership to execute procedures, collect data, and maintain safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 3+ years in aerospace/defense manufacturing or related fields and a strong mechanical aptitude. A strong emphasis on safety, 5S, and continuous improvement is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in manufacturing, assembly, testing, or operations in high-hazard environments.
• Experience with energetic materials or hazardous processes is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Execute propellant manufacturing and SRM assembly tasks as per work instructions.
• Assist with test setup, instrumentation installation, and development tests under guidance.
• Operate and perform basic maintenance on manufacturing and test equipment.
• Collect, document, and organize process and test data; support post-test handling and data packaging.
• Follow energetic materials safety protocols and maintain clean, safe work areas.
• Support 5S and continuous improvement activities at the site.
• Assist with equipment qualification, trials, validation, and troubleshooting with engineering support.
• Prepare materials and tooling for builds and tests; assist with inventory control.
• Collaborate daily with engineers and operators to meet schedule, quality, and safety goals.
• Support cross-training as capabilities scale.
