Job summary

CesiumAstro in Austin, TX, seeks a Senior Software Engineer – Test Automation & Infrastructure to build scalable automation for RF and satellite payload validation. You’ll bridge software and hardware test teams, developing robust frameworks, DUT control, and CI/CD integration to improve reliability and speed.

You’ll automate lab instrumentation, design reusable test components, and drive architectural improvements across test environments for multiple configurations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent).
• 5–8 years of experience in software engineering, test automation, or related roles.
• Experience interfacing software with hardware or lab instrumentation.
• Proficiency in Python, C/C++, or similar.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD tools, automated test frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop automated test software to control laboratory instrumentation.
• Implement and maintain test sequences for system- and component-level validation.
• Support integration and execution of tests across hardware and software environments.
• Debug and troubleshoot test failures across software, hardware, and interfaces.
• Design software for device under test control including telemetry ingestion and state management.
• Build reusable automation frameworks and scripts.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
