Job summary

CesiumAstro in Austin, TX seeks a Senior Test Engineer to architect and execute test systems for board-level electronics in space-grade hardware. You will design test plans, automate data collection, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and performance across high-speed digital, RF, and power domains.

Responsibilities include developing test architectures, evaluating results, and contributing to lab buildout and test software tools.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
• 5+ years in design, analysis, and implementation of electronic products or test systems.
• Experience designing and executing test plans for board-level electronics.
• Hands-on with lab instruments: scopes, analyzers, RF generators, vector analyzers.
• Programming or scripting in Python, LabVIEW, SQL, MATLAB, or Embedded C.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop test architectures and systems, including equipment selection and data logging.
• Design and execute tests at prototype, qualification, and acceptance stages.
• Develop test requirements for new products.
• Ensure compliance with standards (e.g., NASA GEVS).
• Plan and execute board-level verification tests, including SI, digital link, power, and temp.
• Develop systems for testing complex hardware/software, such as phased arrays.
• Advise on design-for-testability (DFT).
• Evaluate and present test results to stakeholders.
• Contribute to lab tools, software, and templates.
• Train technicians and contribute to lab growth.
