Job summary

Akoya is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Test to drive quality engineering with a builder's mindset. You will be hands-on, mentor a small team, and shape our test automation strategy alongside the Principal Software Engineer in Test.

You’ll write code, extend test infrastructure, and influence reliability at scale for a growing fintech. This remote-first role welcomes candidates in Boston, MA, NYC, and Raleigh, NC, with strong emphasis on automation, CI/CD, and agile SaaS environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software testing or quality engineering with 2+ years in a technical lead or senior IC role.
• Proficient with Cypress, Node.js, Docker, Bitbucket Pipelines, Postman, WireMock, K8s, and AWS.
• Experience with load/performance testing (k6, Gatling, or similar).
• Strong CI/CD, cloud environments, and shift-left testing principles.
• Ability to communicate quality risk to business leaders and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Shift left on quality with early collaboration on testability and risk-based strategies.
• Build, extend, and maintain test frameworks, tooling, and CI integration.
• Design and run functional, integration, regression, and load/performance tests.
• Improve testing processes, scale QA practices, and mentor QA engineers.
• Define quality signals and track automation coverage, reliability, and feedback loops.
