Job summary

Akoya, a remote-first fintech data network, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Test. You will shape our test automation strategy and mentor a small QA team as you help scale quality across products.

This role is open to candidates in Boston, MA, New York, NY, and Raleigh, NC with a flexible, mostly remote setup. You will design and implement test frameworks, drive CI/CD integration, and work closely with engineering and product to ensure robust, scalable quality from inception through

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software testing or quality engineering.
• Experience leading a team of QA engineers.
• Strong CI/CD and cloud experience.
• Experience building test infrastructure in SaaS.
• Excellent cross-functional communication.
• Ability to translate quality risk into business impact.

Responsibilities

• Shift Left on Quality: Partner with engineers and product managers early in the development cycle to define testability requirements, acceptance criteria, and risk-based test strategies before a line of code is written.
• Build and Maintain Test Automation: Build, extend, and help maintain the frameworks, tooling, and CI integration the team's testing runs on.
• Test Across the Spectrum: Design and execute functional, integration, regression and load/performance test automation using k6 or Gatling for performance and Cypress/Postman for functional and API coverage.
• Innovate on Process: Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the testing lifecycle and champion adaptive QA practices for rapid iteration.
• Elevate the Team: Be a senior technical voice and mentor for QA engineers and contribute to a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
• Drive Metrics That Matter: Define and track automation coverage, test reliability, bug escapes, and feedback loop speed.
• Align with Business Goals: Build testing practices that support compliance, security, and reliability standards.
