Job summary

Medtronic plc in the United States is seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer - HIL to join our Affera Mapping and Ablation System team. The role focuses on testing and QA for real-time, high-performance visualization software with hardware-in-the-loop environments in embedded/medical systems.

The position emphasizes on-site work at least four days per week, collaborating with Systems, Mechanical, Electrical and Software engineers to ensure reliability and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
• Master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• PhD with 0 years of relevant experience
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing in an embedded or medical device environment

Responsibilities

• Test the functionality and performance of systems software in both standalone and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test environments
• Maintain broad understanding of current testing software technologies and hardware-in-the-loop testing methods
• Test the functionality and performance of the systems software
• Develop and execute manual test plans and scripts designed to detect problems
• Ensure systems software meets technical and functional requirements
• Perform workflow analysis, document test results and recommend quality improvements
• Work with engineers to resolve software defects and diagnose/improve product configuration for current and future models
