SpryPoint is hiring a Senior SDET to design and build our test automation framework and drive high-quality software delivery. You’ll write automated tests across API, integration, and UI, integrate tests into CI/CD, and mentor engineers on best practices.

The role emphasizes AI-assisted testing techniques and ownership from day one. The position offers a remote-first environment with flexible hours across North America, plus opportunities to work with modern tools and cloud technologies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software test automation or software engineering with a strong testing focus.
• Strong coding skills in Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Deep experience with a modern automation framework (Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium).
• Solid API testing experience (Postman, REST Assured, etc.) and SQL/database validation.
• Hands-on experience integrating tests into CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Working knowledge of cloud (AWS) and containers (Docker).
• Experience using AI coding assistants or AI test-generation tools in real work.
• Comfort writing effective prompts to generate test ideas and edge cases.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the test automation framework and set standards.
• Write and maintain automated tests across API, integration, and UI layers.
• Prioritize automation by risk and value; favor API tests over brittle UI tests.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD to run automatically on changes and provide fast feedback.
• Drive down flakiness and maintain a trustworthy test suite.
• Evaluate AI-assisted testing tools and apply AI tooling to accelerate testing.
• Review AI-generated tests and code with a critical eye.
• Mentor engineers on automation practices and improve testing quality.
