Job summary

Topstep is seeking a Senior SDET to lead test automation across API, UI, and real-time paths on the TopstepX platform. You will design scalable frameworks, mentor other SDETs, and drive quality decisions with product teams.

The role emphasizes building AI-assisted testing workflows, ensuring coverage without excessive maintenance, and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines. Remote-friendly with US-wide opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software testing with a strong focus on test automation.
• Expert programming skills; writes production-quality test code in TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience building test frameworks from scratch (Playwright preferred).
• Experience using AI/LLM-assisted tooling for test creation and validation.
• Strong API and real-time testing with REST and WebSocket streams.
• Deep understanding of React/TypeScript frontend and C#/.NET backend tests.
• CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions and deployment pipelines.
• Ability to design test strategies balancing coverage, time, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Drive test automation across API, UI, and end-to-end paths.
• Extend AI-assisted test-generation tooling to broaden coverage.
• Build and maintain scalable test frameworks within CI/CD.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to define testability needs.
• Mentor SDETs on automation patterns and non-functional testing.
• Triangulate failures quickly and keep flaky tests under control.
• Identify quality gaps and reduce systemic testing weaknesses.
• Advise on testing patterns for performance and resilience.
