Job summary

Werfen is seeking a senior, hands-on test automation architect to own the architecture, frameworks, and standards across software, firmware, and system testing. You will design scalable automation for hardware-in-the-loop environments and cloud-based test infra, collaborating with software, firmware, and DevOps teams to promote testability by design and continuous testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field such as Engineering or CS with ample related experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of related experience (or 8 years with a Master’s).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to operate instrumentation and work in a team of developers and testers.

Responsibilities

• Own the test automation architecture, strategy, standards, and roadmap.
• Build reusable automation frameworks with Python and supporting technologies.
• Develop automation for firmware, components, APIs, and end-to-end workflows.
• Create libraries, harnesses, simulators, mocks, and test infrastructure.
• Design environments using AWS, VMs, Docker, containers, and physical/virtual test setups.
• Integrate automation into CI/CD and DevOps pipelines.
• Automate environment provisioning, deployment, test execution, and diagnostics.
• Lead architecture reviews and provide hands-on mentoring to automation engineers.
