Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico is seeking a Senior/Principal Computer Scientist focused on software development testing. You will join a high‑performing team responsible for system integration and verification for space missions, shaping test strategy and automation tools.

The role requires hands‑on testing (manual and automated), Linux proficiency, and programming in Python, Java, or C/C++. You will contribute to CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, and evolving test frameworks while mentoring

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five (5) years of directly relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of directly relevant education and engineering or scientific experience.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q and SCI clearance.
• Graduate degree in Computer Science or a highly related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and execution of software testing (automated and manual).
• Independently develop test strategies and drive issues to resolution.
• Mentor less‑experienced team members in test design and automation practices.
• Perform requirements verification and regression testing of software changes.
