Job summary

BMA seeks a Simulation Support Team Terrain Database Engineer to design, build, and maintain digital terrain for ARNG MCTSP JLCCTC Federates. Located at Camp Dodge (Des Moines, IA) with travel, the role requires extensive GIS expertise and security clearance.

The engineer will manage terrain databases, imagery mosaics, and map data, collaborating with national labs and NGA to ensure accurate, timely training terrain. Role is full-time, exempt, with travel as required.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years as GIS SME in the field.
• Five+ years using ERDAS IMAGINE, ArcGIS, Global Mapper, Photoshop, and JLCCTC STT.
• Five+ years in technical computer operations able to learn JLCCTC Federate operations.
• BS degree in Geographic Information Science and Technology (or 12 years GIS experience).
• Certified GIS Professional (GISCI).

Responsibilities

• Designs and generates new digital terrain for JLVC/JLCCTC/LVC-G.
• Processes mosaic large aerial imagery datasets.
• Develops and analyzes topographic and thematic map data for training/operations.
• Performs configuration management of terrain production tools.
• Maintains historical terrain, imagery, map and data sets.
• Collaborates with NGA and other terrain labs on product refinement.
• Operates a JLCCTC Federate during CPX as directed.
• Supports CPX operations and OTSession guidance as needed.
