Job summary

BNSF Railway in Bakersfield seeks a hands-on Transportation Supervisor to lead TY&E operations, supervising crews and coordinating daily train and switching activities with a steadfast commitment to safety and efficiency.

The role requires strong leadership, knowledge of operating rules, and the ability to work flexible shifts, including holidays and weekends, to ensure reliable service across our freight network.

Qualifications

• Must be currently certified as a BNSF First Line Supervisor.
• Working knowledge of operating rules and schedule agreements for TY&E crafts.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with knowledge of day-to-day railroad operations.
• Proficient in TSS Xpress system.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing policy and execution of the operating plan.
• Supervise TY&E employees and plan daily train and switching operations with safety and efficiency.
• Conduct operations tests and safety meetings; investigate accidents and injuries.
• Monitor and control costs to meet goals.
• Ensure compliance with BNSF policies, safety rules, schedule agreements, and government regulations.
