Job summary

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering invites an Experienced Structural Engineer to join the Temporary Works Group in a fast-paced, design-build environment. You will design and review temporary structures, perform calculations, and coordinate with construction teams to optimize safety and efficiency.

You will lead or support on-site engineering efforts, mentor EITs, and work across multiple offices to deliver complex projects.

Qualifications

Temporary structures experience and construction engineering background.
Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering; Master’s preferred.
5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
Professional Engineer licensure or US eligibility.
Knowledge of structural engineering principles and codes.
Experience with listed design software (AutoCAD, BlueBeam, MathCAD, Navisworks, RISA-3D).
Team collaboration and strong communication skills.
Ability to travel or relocate as needed.

Responsibilities

Develop drawings and calculations for temporary works and construction methods.
Create heavy lift plans, crane access, and rigging designs.
Define erection procedures or planned sequences for construction or demolition.
Evaluate existing structures for construction loads and demolition planning.
Perform structural analysis for temporary conditions on bridges, buildings, and tunnels.
Support excavation systems or cofferdams during below-grade work.
Design temporary bridges, trestles, working platforms, and fall protection.
Review colleagues' calculations/drawings for codes and accuracy.
Identify design risks and assist with mitigation planning.
Assist in project management including budgets, schedules, and client coordination.
