Job summary

Ameris Bank is seeking a Branch Teller Supervisor to coordinate customer service inside the branch. The role includes supervising teller operations, ensuring accurate transactions, and balancing cash while maintaining compliance.

You will work to resolve complex service issues and support cross-selling opportunities within the branch. The position requires 3+ years in customer service, 2+ years teller or cash handling experience, and 1 year of retail banking.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform accurate transactions.
• Successful completion of Teller training program and passing score on training post-test.
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence and the ability to meet or exceed sales and service objectives.
• Highly motivated team-player with ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate PC proficiency.
• Intermediate proficiency in Google Docs and Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the operations of teller functions including staffing schedules, audits, performance evaluations input, and compliance monitoring.
• Provide prompt, professional customer service to customers and prospective customers.
• Operate the teller drawer and perform advanced, specialized teller functions including researching cash discrepancies and handling complex transactions.
• Identify root causes of complex customer service issues and implement resolutions.
• Maintain working knowledge of banking products and promotions.
• Achieve defined sales and service goals.
• Perform regular audits of teller activities and maintain signed records.
• Balance vault and ATM transactions and cash totals.
• Scan daily proof work to the remote capture machine.
• Identify customer needs and cross-sell/up-sell opportunities; make referrals.
• Ensure adequate currency and coin supply.
• Provide backup support to other branches as needed.
• May mentor and train colleagues and assist with other branches.
• May perform all sales and service functions of the branch as needed.

• Always act in the customer’s best interest when offering products and services.
