Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Research and Development North America, Inc. is seeking engineers to join the US Vehicle Integration Infotainment Development Testing team.

You will validate telematics systems, TCU functionality, and connectivity for the US market, while collaborating with global teams and mentoring junior staff. The role emphasizes independent task management, risk awareness in telematics, and contribution to test automation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• 5–7 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in development or validation of embedded automotive or consumer electronics systems.
• Strong understanding of Telematics, ideally Telematics Control Units.
• Testing, validation, and verification experience.
• Ability to operate a Vehicle for dynamic testing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Test, verify, and validate US telematics systems, TCUs, internet connectivity, emergency call services, and remote services for the US market.
• Lead resolution of technical problems and communicate issues to EST teams and Germany HQ.
• Instruct and mentor junior team members on project tasks as needed.
• Work independently to determine task priorities and focus.
• Recognize risks in telematics development and adjust priorities accordingly.
• Select methods for test configuration, plans, and test drives.
• Maintain and enhance TCU test automation for current and future projects.
• Identify, communicate, and execute high-impact changes or improvements.
• Organize domestic and international (Canada) test drives for specific functions or components.
• Collaborate between onboard and offboard testing teams.
