Job summary

SpaceX, a leader in aerospace, is seeking a Sr. Telecommunication Engineer in Brownsville, TX.

You will design and support critical network infrastructure across production facilities and spacecraft systems, including fiber/copper cabling, voice, video, RF systems, and telemetry. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, install, and oversee new cabling infrastructure, ensuring world-class connectivity to enable missions beyond Earth.

Qualifications

• BICSI RCDD certification or bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial electrical engineering and medium or high voltage power systems.
• 10+ years of experience designing/building telecom systems (LAN/WAN/WIFI/LTE) and structured cabling.
• Experience with high density commercial cabling and multiple power sources.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IBC, ANSI/TIA/BICSI cabling standards.
• Ability to manage construction contracts and coordinate across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for fiberoptic and copper network infrastructure across multiple IP-based systems.
• Coordinate downtime activities between maintenance, construction, and production teams to minimize disruptions.
• Drive telecom projects using design change requests, power monitoring data, and detection methods.
• Troubleshoot electrical system problems and track load/capacity; coordinate material procurement for large projects.
• Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors; collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide telecom engineering support to field technicians for troubleshooting; oversee installation and maintenance to meet parameters.
