Job summary

Metronet in Rochester, MN is seeking a Construction Manager to lead project teams and own budgets, schedules, and customer expectations. The role interfaces with customers, guides resource allocation, and drives on-time, under-budget delivery of telecom construction projects.

The ideal candidate has BS/BA in construction management or related field, 10+ years in telecom OSP, and strong budgeting, scheduling, and leadership abilities. Metronet offers competitive pay and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree or equivalent experience required.
• Strong knowledge of telecom construction and engineering.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and field office operations.
• Ten+ years of telecommunications OSP design/construction experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Review and fully understand contracts and requirements of each project.
• Create and execute project work plans, schedules, and control budgets; identify and procure resources.
• Assign duties to the project management team and staff.
• Manage day-to-day operational aspects to ensure on-time, under-budget completion.
• Meet with customers; provide progress reports and manage changes to plans.
• Interpret project specifications and act as a technical expert on scope and delivery.
• Communicate requirements to project staff and assist with questions on technology, equipment, and design.
• Serve as project spokesperson; maintain relationships with customers and coordinate updates.
• Ensure contract, permit and authorization compliance as applicable.
• Review and approve job cost reports submitted to home office.
• Maintain regular communication with Director of Construction and management.
