Job summary

Broward County Public Schools is seeking a Technology Support Specialist II to ensure continuous availability of technology at the assigned Dillard 6-12 location in Fort Lauderdale. The role focuses on supporting hardware, software, networks, and servers, with emphasis on training and guidance for staff and students.

The position requires strong problem-solving, collaboration with district staff, and adherence to safety and district policies.

Qualifications

• A standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved GED testing.
• A minimum of six (6) years of experience in supporting computer systems related to digital environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance training and guidance to site staff and students for hardware and software problems.
• Ensure the location has an effective and stable digital learning environment, including virtual environments, by collaborating with staff and district support.
• Support adherence to district network security standards.
• Coordinate with vendors for hardware and software acquisitions.
• Assist with installation of approved hardware (stand-alone and networked) and software.
• Perform basic troubleshooting for technology.
• Conduct minor repairs or upgrades to technology.
• Participate in location technology team activities and collaborate with district staff.
• Maintain inventory of all technology assets and ensure accuracy.
• Engage in district trainings to sustain skills related to responsibilities.
