Job Profile Summary

BofA Commodity Technology seeks a Senior Technology Manager to manage a 10–15‑person engineering team supporting the global Commodities Index desk. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in commodity index and derivatives with a track record of delivering complex, distributed systems.

Responsibilities
  • Build and manage teams by performing financial activities to inform workforce strategy, setting and tracking maturity and quality objectives, and training employees to address feedback and achieve performance goals.
  • Facilitate performance and career development through reviews, coaching, and development plans.
  • Manage solution delivery and application performance in production, ensuring all relevant risk, financial, and compliance policies are met.

  • Contribute to the technology strategy for the technical domain.
  • Create an inclusive and healthy working environment and resolve organizational impediments.
  • Ensure execution aligns with product strategy by working with product management and stakeholders.
  • Lead and grow a high‑performing team of 10–15 engineers: coach, set goals, and cultivate a collaborative, front‑office–centric culture.
  • Engage the desk daily: partner with trading, sales, and quants to translate strategies and models into production‑grade systems.
  • Architect and build on Quartz: drive end‑to‑end engineering of the Commodity Index platform, modernize components, and eliminate technical debt.
  • Deliver real‑time risk: implement and support intraday risk for commodity index and derivatives.
  • Support pre‑trade and client connectivity: help define and support future strategic implementations.
  • Ensure production excellence: monitoring, alerting, incident response, root‑cause analysis, capacity planning, release management, and change control.
Managerial Responsibilities

  • People Manager & Coach: provide coaching and feedback to motivate and improve performance.
  • Financial Steward: manage expenses and budgets in alignment with objectives.
  • Enterprise Talent Leader: assess talent and build bench strength.
  • Driver of Business Outcomes: deliver results by prioritizing and delegating team work.
