Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, invites a Senior Technician II-Engineering to join a highly technical environment.

You will support engineering activities from design and test to fabrication of prototype electromechanical systems, RF/microwave devices, and specialized test equipment. The role requires reading schematics, performing operation tests, fault isolation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in related field.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in electronics assembly and testing.
Ability to read and understand schematics and drawings.
Experienced in soldering and cable assembly.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and remain highly organized.
Comfortable working with cross functional teams.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to fast paced environment.
Strong commitment to teamwork and process.
Demonstrated proficiency in space qualified construction and testing techniques.
Demonstrated proficiency in documentation generation, organization, and storage.

Responsibilities

Support Engineering Activities including: Design, Test, Check-out, Modification, Fabrication & Assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, RF/Microwave devices and specialized test equipment.
Applications include Electronic Circuits, Microwave RF, and Logic Systems.
Work from Schematics, Diagrams, Written and Verbal Descriptions, Layouts or Defined plans to perform testing, Check-out and troubleshooting functions.
Perform Operation Test and Fault isolation on systems and equipment.
Assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
Assist in design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment.
Use manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.
