Overview:

Performs Histology functions including accessioning, microtomy, embedding, and slide preparations using scientific knowledge of histology principles and following standard operating procedures. Maintains technical policies and procedures, operates and maintains equipment, instruments, tools, and manages inventory.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Assists Manager with daily operations, work coordination, achieving departmental goals, ensuring customer satisfaction, and meeting regulatory requirements.
• Maintains specialized expertise within assigned area.
• Routinely assumes charge of department in workload prioritization and problem resolution in the absence of the Manager.

Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience in Histology required.
• Associate degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science from an accredited institution required; Bachelor degree preferred.
• Education, experience, and ASCP certification must be maintained within the specific discipline.
