Job summary

Walmart is seeking a skilled HVAC/refrigeration technician to maintain and repair facility systems across its Wisconsin stores. You will diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and respond quickly to emergencies, using hand, power, and digital tools and the work order system.

You will work with safety policies, OSHA and EPA guidelines, complete required training, and document repairs for stores and associates.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration or 6 years with an AAS in AC/refrigeration
• EPA Type I/II/Universal refrigerant handling certifications
• Journeyman qualification where required
• 1 year experience in plumbing/electrical or Walmart store exposure
• Valid state driver’s license and clean MVR
• No major safety violations in last 3 years
• HS diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work at heights

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency regulations and guidelines
• Complete required safety training

Requirements

• Minimum qualification: 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration; alternatively, 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
• Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling
• Where required, HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman qualification
• 1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area, or 2 years’ Walmart store experience
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
• Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last five years
• Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
• No serious traffic violations under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in the last three years
• 18 years or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently
• Ability to complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely
