Job summary

MSD in Millsboro, DE is seeking a Senior Technician for Production to support manufacturing of vaccines and biologics. The role involves working with aseptic and non-aseptic processes, ensuring quality and compliance in a fast-paced plant.

You will read and follow procedures, operate equipment, supervise some tasks, and contribute to safety and continuous improvement. A strong emphasis on documentation, teamwork, and adherence to GMP is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED with minimum of 2 years of laboratory or production experience
• OR Associates degree in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 1 year laboratory or production experience
• OR Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering
• Must be able to read, write and comprehend technical information and to effectively impart information to colleagues at various levels
• Ability to operate manufacturing equipment with training
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills are required
• Knowledge of reading, mathematics and computer skills are required
• Ability to communicate and work in cooperation with other employees in a manufacturing environment
• Successful completion of a Physical Abilities Test
• Experience in Aseptic clean room behaviors preferred

Responsibilities

• Work with a variety of manufacturing equipment throughout the manufacturing cycle
• Performs manual and automated operations, general maintenance and support functions
• Anticipates and solves complex production/operational problems
• Organizes own time and that of others and may supervise some work of others
• Read, write and comprehend technical information and convey information to colleagues at various levels
• Performing aseptic procedures including media preparation, antigen inoculation and harvest, tissue culture preparation and harvest, filling vaccines
• Performing non-aseptic procedures including handling of live poultry in the process of harvesting tissue and waste
• Filling, labeling, capping, packaging, and inspecting product
• Concurrent record keeping including charts, log books, and all pertinent documentation
• Identifies and addresses compliance, environmental, safety, and process deviations as appropriate while notifying appropriate personnel
• Plan daily/weekly laboratory assignments and participate in projects
• Attend training classes and meetings to improve job skills
