Job summary

Saber Power Services in Rosharon, TX is seeking a Sr. Electrical Test Technician to perform testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high‑voltage equipment to ensure safety and reliability of power systems.

Ideal candidates hold an AAS in Electrical or Electronics Technology, have 2+ years HV experience, and a NETA certification. You must be able to lift 75 pounds, pass pre‑employment screenings, and travel at least 50%. Strong communication and safety discipline are essential.

Qualifications

• AAS in Electrical or Electronics Technology or equivalent experience in HV
• Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in HV industry
• NETA Certification (II/III/IV) required
• Ability to lift 75 pounds
• Pre-employment drug testing and random drug screenings are required
• Pre-employment criminal background check
• Must pass a physical exam
• Must be open to travel, with a minimum of 50%
• Valid driver’s license with clean record
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and nights
• Working in a team environment
• Effective oral and written communications
• Knowledge of NEC/NESC and IEEE/ANSI standards
• Knowledge of substation equipment and drawings
• Drafting standards knowledge

Saber Power Services seeks a skilled and experienced Sr. Electrical Test Technicianto join our team. This role involves performing testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-voltage substation equipment to ensure the safety and reliability of electrical power systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical testing and maintenance, as well as extensive knowledge of industry standards, including NETA, IEEE, and NFPA. Successful candidates will be place in Technician I – Senior Technician titles commiserate with their certification and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform electrical testing services on power apparatus, substations, and switchgear included (but not limited to) the following:
• Protective relaying and relaying systems
• Circuit Breakers
• Power Transformers
• Current and Potential Transformers
• Meters, Transducers, and Power system metering
• Power Cables
• Grounding Systems
• Motors and Motor Starters
• Station Batteries and Chargers
• Alarm systems and Annunciators
• Personal Protective Equipment
• Perform troubleshooting and problem identification and analysis. Make recommendations regarding corrective action and/or repairs
• Generate technical reports detailing services provided, problems found, and corrective action taken or recommended
• Represent the company in a professional manner regarding communicating and interfacing with clients
• Communicate effectively with the company management team on a regular basis regarding project status and the scheduling of manpower and equipment
• Always make safety a top priority, realizing that the company has Zero Tolerance for those who do otherwise
• Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.

Qualifications:

• AAS in Electrical or Electronics Technology or equivalent experience in the high voltage industry
• Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in the high voltage industry
• NETA Certification (Level II, III, or IV) required .
• Ability to lift up 75 pounds
• Pre-employment drug testing and random drug screenings are required.
• Pre-employment criminal background check
• Must be able to pass a physical exam
• Must be open to travel, with a minimum of 50%
• Valid driver’s license required, along with a clean driving record that must be maintained.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, as well as occasional weekends, holidays, and nights.
