Job summary

ASR seeks an experienced Senior Technical Writer for the General Products and Security Branch to support engineering technical services for the GSA. This remote role covers technical writing, product research, data validation, and updates to Item Purchase Descriptions for hardware, containers, and related goods.

Responsibilities include NSPN production, standard references, EDMS/PICS data management, safety data sheets, and regulatory reviews.

Qualifications

5+ years of technical writing and engineering support experience.
Experience creating/updating Item Purchase Descriptions and Technical Information Reports.
Knowledge of standards such as ASME, ASTM, ANSI, SAE, FED-STD, MIL-STD, CID, QP4, QPD.
Experience using data validation in EDMS, PICS, GSA Advantage, FLIS, HMIRS.
HAZMAT certification or ability to support HAZMAT personnel requirements.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain Item Purchase Descriptions for General Products and Security Branch NSNs.
Support NSN workload updates, not exceeding 1,440 NSNs annually.
Apply applicable technical standards and references to items.
Review Safety Data Sheets and regulatory documentation.
Coordinate with COR and engineering representatives on data discrepancies.
Prepare monthly progress reports on NSNs and cataloging activities.
