MANTECH seeks a Senior Technical Writer for onsite work in Chesapeake, VA. The role focuses on creating, reviewing, and maintaining technical documents and manuals for military and defense projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.

Responsibilities include researching data, coordinating with departments, and interfacing with customers, vendors, and military personnel. Travel may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years of technical writer experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering concepts.
• Experience developing technical documents and manuals to military standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.

Responsibilities

• Research, analyze, and verify technical data for manuals to meet standards.
• Coordinate production and distribution of materials with appropriate departments.
• Conduct parts research for mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
• Interface with customer personnel, vendors, and military personnel.
• Revise or write standardized material for manuals and publications on work methods, procedures, and maintenance.
• Receive technical direction from supervisor or senior writer and reference catalogs/drawings.
• Access blueprints, drawings, parts lists, and specifications to integrate technology and procedures.
• Travel occasionally.
