Job summary

Advantage Technical is seeking a Technical Writer in Elizabeth City, NC on-site to develop and maintain technical manuals for advanced military equipment. You will interview engineers, review diagrams, and ensure IETM XML compliance using S1000D and established Style guides.

Proficiency with Windchill, Captivate, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred. The role emphasizes precise grammar and clear communication of complex hardware information.

Qualifications

• Become fully knowledgeable of the functions, operation, test and maintenance procedures of the equipment.
• Evaluate existing operation and maintenance documentation.
• Modify and develop documentation to meet current hardware configuration, requirements and schedules.
• Interface with hardware/system and field engineering personnel to obtain the necessary information for developing the documentation materials.
• Develop the operation and maintenance manuals within the schedule requirements.

Responsibilities

• Write and revise technical materials, such as equipment operator, maintenance, manuals, appendices, and repair parts and special tools lists manuals on advanced military equipment.
