Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent with 5+ years in defense.
• 5 years of defense industry experience.
• Experience with hydraulics, mechanics, electronics and systems operations.
• Proficiency with XML authoring tools (Arbortext Epic Editor, Oxygen).
• Familiar with IETM functionality and publishing processes.
• Proficient in MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Access a plus.
• Experience with mechanical/electrical/operator technical writing, defense preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise complex technical documentation for products' marketing, operation, repair and maintenance.
• Ensure documents meet company and government standards and language usage principles.
• Develop docs using state-of-the-art publishing software including IPB and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements and government specs.
• Consult with engineering staff to translate systems and equipment into documentation.
• Analyze drawings to extract information for documentation.
• Evaluate illustrations for integration and request changes as needed.
