Job summary

Banner Quality Management, Inc. is seeking a Technical Writer to develop and maintain technical documents and communications for the United States Navy at the Crane, IN location.

This is primarily an onsite role with occasional telework opportunities. The role involves generating documentation for USCG SAFECEN, researching technical information, ensuring proper terminology, and delivering clear, compliant materials for technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline, preferably English, Communications, Technical Writing, or Journalism.
• Eight years of experience preparing technical documentation for United States Government (USG) agencies.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, or other document development and management tools.

Responsibilities

• Generate and maintain technical documentation for the USCG SAFECEN.
• Gather, analyze, and compose technical information.
• Conduct research and ensure the use of proper technical terminology.
• Translate technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel.
• Ensure documents are clear, concise, technically correct, and compliant with USCG correspondence requirements.
• Assist in the formulation and definition of documentation scopes and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable USCG correspondence standards.
• Assist in performing analysis of business and user needs to generate documentation requirements.
• Apply process improvement practices to re-engineer methodologies/principles and process modernization projects.
• Generate and communicate progress reports for management and customer leadership.
