We are looking for a Senior Technical Writer to help us in our mission to make pilots safer. The Technical Writer's role is to help set the vision for the user experience through creating content that helps our internal and external users have a positive experience using our platform.

The primary workplace for this position is Aechelon Technology’s South San Francisco Headquarters.

United States citizenship required due to restrictions on access to certain data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create, edit and publish documentation for code, release notes, content creation pipelines, and user-facing products.
• Define and drive technical content plans and evaluate and select platform solutions for content delivery to internal and external users.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, UX designers, and field support engineers to gather and validate technical information.
• Be a stakeholder in the style guide that drives consistent visual and functional documentation standards across products.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in a technical writer, product manager, engineering, developer relations, solutions architect, or field/support engineering background.
• Strong understanding of Technical Writing principles that you can demonstrate through past writing samples.
• Strong knowledge of content development cycles, documentation best practices, and tools.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical topics in a simplified manner.
• Great listener and designer who knows how to guide cross-functional stakeholders to success.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and convey changes in priorities and expected delivery schedule to partner teams.
• Ability to work with export-controlled technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with designing and leading content strategy projects across organizations.
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles.
• Experience using LLMs such as Chat GPT to expand and polish documentation.
• Experience with technical writing for map-making and geospatial tools pipelines, or 3D content creation pipelines.

$110,000 - $182,000 a year

The above range is specific to CALIFORNIA and may not be applicable to other locations. The pay scale for this role is between $110,000 - $182,000. Final compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
