Job summary

Dycom Industries, Inc. is seeking a Senior Technical Trainer to develop, deliver, and assess comprehensive training programs for field technicians across a broad geographic territory.

You will ensure crews possess the necessary technical knowledge, practical skills, and safety compliance for underground telecom infrastructure. You will design engaging materials, instruct on best practices, and evaluate competency while coordinating logistics across sites.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years hands-on experience in Underground Telecommunications Field Operations.
• Proven knowledge of underground plant construction and hardware with safe trenching, excavation, and conduit/cable placement.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills for training diverse adult learners across multiple sites.
• Experience using mobile tech and remote conferencing for administrative tasks and reporting while traveling.
• Ability to manage a full training schedule and travel logistics independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and development of engaging, technically accurate training materials for varying environments.
• Instruct technicians on industry best practices, company standards, and safe underground work methods.
• Assess technician competency via written exams and practical evaluations with on-site remediation as needed.
• Deliver multi-modal training (classroom, lab, on-the-job) on underground telecommunications plant components and safety.
• Coordinate scheduling with local site management to meet training timelines across locations.
• Adapt training delivery to accommodate varying local operational needs and crew availability.
• Maintain detailed records of trainings, attendance, performance, and certifications via mobile/remote platforms.
• Collaborate with Training and Field Ops management to identify skill gaps and report results.
