Senior Sales & Business Development Manager (Technical Sales Manager)
>>Sole Vertical Sales/BD Ownership: Semiconductor & Microelectronics
Technical Sales & Business Development Opportunity
Sequence has been retained by our client, one of the worlds leading precision cleaning, passivation, and cleanroom services organizations, to recruit a Technical Sales Manager focused on the semiconductor and microelectronics markets.
As the most high-profile positions within the niche market, this represents an outstanding opportunity for an accomplished sales professional who understands the semiconductor industry, enjoys developing lasting customer relationships, and brings a demonstrated ability to sell technical services.
A well-established organization, our client has built its reputation through decades of research, innovation, and specialized service delivery. Its capabilities include AS9100-certified cleanroom services and on-site chemical cleaning, supporting demanding customer applications throughout the United States and internationally.
Leadership, integrity, and service are central to the organization’s approach to business. The company is seeking someone who reflects those values in how they build relationships, collaborate with colleagues, represent technical capabilities, and deliver on customer commitments.
Reporting to the Vice President of Cleanroom Services, the Technical Sales Manager will solely own this market vertical and drive revenue growth across the organization’s cleanroom business units. Customer focus includes semiconductor fabs, OEM equipment manufacturers, microelectronics suppliers, and ultra-high-purity system manufacturers, owners, and installers.
This remote position combines targeted new business development with the management and expansion of existing accounts. The successful individual will identify opportunities, establish credibility with technical and commercial decision-makers, and develop service engagements that create customer value while supporting profitable growth.
Working closely with Inside Sales, Estimating, Customer Service, and local Operations leadership, this individual will guide opportunities from initial qualification through quotation, negotiation, and close, ensuring customer commitments align with operational capabilities and commercial objectives.
The two central qualifications are meaningful semiconductor industry experience and a proven ability to sell services (not just product sales). Candidates may bring experience spanning semiconductor equipment, materials, manufacturing support, precision cleaning, contamination control, or related areas, provided they combine knowledge of the semiconductor marketplace with demonstrated success developing and closing service-based business.
Direct experience selling precision cleaning or passivation services would be valuable, but is not required. The organization is most interested in someone who understands its customers, approaches sales consultatively, and can connect specialized service capabilities to customer needs.
The Technical Sales Manager will develop relationships and service opportunities across:
The ideal individual will be an accomplished sales and business development professional who brings both semiconductor industry experience and a demonstrated record of selling technical services.
Candidates do not need to have spent their entire career in precision cleaning or cleanroom services. Experience in semiconductor equipment, materials, manufacturing support, contamination control, high-purity systems, or related environments can provide a relevant foundation when accompanied by proven services sales capability.
Most important will be the ability to understand the customer’s business, build credibility, identify needs, and develop service engagements that produce lasting commercial relationships.
The successful individual will be comfortable opening new accounts while investing the attention necessary to expand established relationships. This person should bring the discipline to manage a complex sales process and the judgment to collaborate effectively with colleagues responsible for estimating, executing, and supporting the work.
Qualifications include:
Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes, contamination control, cleaning requirements, and relationships across the semiconductor supply chain will be particularly valuable.
This is an opportunity to combine semiconductor industry knowledge and services sales experience with the capabilities of an established industry leader. With a history dating to decades, the organization offers a respected technical services platform built around precision cleaning, passivation, and cleanroom services supporting demanding semiconductor and microelectronics applications.
Working directly with the Vice President of Cleanroom Services and experienced commercial and operational teams, the successful individual will take ownership of developing new business and expanding existing accounts. The role offers meaningful involvement in shaping customer relationships, strengthening market presence, and driving profitable growth across semiconductor fabs, equipment manufacturers, microelectronics suppliers, and ultra-high-purity system organizations.
The remote structure provides independence while maintaining an active presence with customers and industry partners. For someone who enjoys building business through technical credibility, consultative selling, and lasting relationships, this represents an opportunity to make a visible contribution within an organization grounded in leadership, integrity, and service.
The organization’s commitment to leadership, integrity, and service carries directly into the
expectations for this position.
Success requires earning customer trust, understanding the challenges behind a service request, communicating honestly, and working closely with colleagues to deliver on commitments. The Technical Sales Manager will represent both the organization’s technical capabilities and the standards of professionalism customers expect from an established service partner.
The company is seeking someone who takes ownership, prepares thoughtfully, listens carefully, and follows through. Clear communication and an engaging, approachable manner are particularly valuable when working with customers across technical disciplines and organizational levels.
Internal relationships are equally important. Successful service engagements depend on coordination among sales, estimating, customer service, and the operations teams responsible for performing the work. This individual must respect those partnerships, communicate expectations accurately, and help develop commitments the organization can deliver with confidence.
The strongest fit will be a professional who combines energy and ambition with sound commercial judgment and a genuine commitment to people. Someone who enjoys earning business through expertise, responsiveness, and lasting relationships will find a meaningful opportunity to contribute.
For a sales professional who knows the semiconductor marketplace and understands how to sell services, this represents a compelling opportunity to build business with an organization whose reputation rests on technical excellence and customer trust.
This is a remote position requiring regular travel to customer facilities, field locations, and industry activities.
Travel might comprise more than 50% of the workweek and include day travel, commercial air travel, extended driving periods, and occasional overnight stays. Work may periodically involve customer sites or field environments with dusty or noisy conditions.
