Job summary

Ciena is seeking a Technical Sales Lead, based in Denver, CO, to support Blue Planet sales by acting as the technical advisor throughout the sales cycle. You will articulate technology positioning to business and technical users, drive PoC criteria, and manage RFIs/RFPs with the Solution Architect and engineering teams.

The role requires extensive OSS platform experience and deep telecom networking know-how, with travel as needed and a focus on customer outcomes and long-term relationships.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in a senior pre-sales or project delivery role within OSS platform industry.
• Over 10 years’ experience in telecommunication networking technologies including WAN, LAN, and network infrastructure (L0/L1/L2/L3 Switching & Routing) and 5G.
• Direct experience selling or delivering OSS platforms: Network Orchestration, Service Assurance, Inventory systems.
• Strong interpersonal communications for scoping, managing and executing customer evaluations.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities with ability to deliver technical solutions under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Present the product at a high level to customer prospects.
• Occasionally conduct product demonstrations at events.
• Coordinate and respond to RFIs/RFPs with support from the Solution Architect.
• Manage PoC criteria documentation with support from SE teams.
• Support pricing of a solution using the product price book.
• Lead creation of Services Estimation and SOW materials.
• Serve as the customer technical resource for questions and escalations.
