Job summary

Troy Web Consulting is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale software development projects in a hybrid onsite/remote setup at our Cohoes, NY office or EST-based remote arrangements. You will drive end-to-end planning, risk management, and executive-level collaboration.

Ideal candidates have 6-8+ years managing cross-functional teams, a strong technical background, and expertise in Agile/Scrum. Familiarity with Azure DevOps or Jira and PM tools is required; PMP/CSM is a plus.

Qualifications

6-8+ years managing large-scale software development projects with cross-functional teams.
Strong technical background and understanding of software development processes, tools, and frameworks.
Expertise in Agile, Scrum, and hybrid project management approaches.
Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with Azure DevOps (Azure Boards) or comparable PM platforms such as Jira, Asana, Monday.com, Smartsheet, or Microsoft Project.
PMP, CSM, or other relevant certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects, aligning with business goals and technical feasibility.
Manage expectations and provide regular status updates to leadership and clients, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and technical teams.
Drive Agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies to ensure iterative development and continuous improvement.
Provide strategic direction and oversight for large, mission-critical software projects.
Collaborate with company leadership to refine project management processes and execution strategies.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a senior-level advisor.
Anticipate and mitigate risks, addressing challenges before escalation.
Ensure compliance with industry best practices, budget/timeline, and contractual obligations.
Serve as escalation point for roadblocks, guiding resolution strategies.
Promote continuous learning and professional development within the PM team.
Act as primary liaison for executive-level client communications, ensuring transparency and alignment.
Manage and negotiate project scope, contracts, and change orders to balance client needs and business objectives.
Drive stakeholder engagement and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and HR to support company-wide initiatives.
Assist with resource planning, invoicing, and project financial management.
Participate in company thought leadership initiatives, including presentations and industry discussions.
Other duties as assigned.
