Job summary

Troy Web Consulting is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to lead large-scale software development projects across multiple teams. You will drive strategy, risk management, and client relations while aligning delivery with business goals.

The role requires 6–8+ years of experience, a strong technical background, and certifications such as PMP or CSM. Hybrid onsite in Cohoes, NY, with EST-based remote options.

Qualifications

• 6-8+ years of experience managing large-scale software development projects with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, and hybrid project management approaches.
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with project management tools such as DevOps, GitHub Projects, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or similar.
• PMP, CSM, or other relevant certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical feasibility.
• Manage expectations and provide regular status updates to leadership and clients, ensuring transparency and accountability.
• Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and technical teams.
• Drive Agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies to ensure iterative development and continuous improvement.
• Provide strategic direction and oversight for large, mission-critical software projects.
• Collaborate with company leadership to refine project management processes and execution strategies.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a senior-level advisor.
• Anticipate and mitigate risks, proactively addressing challenges before they escalaters.
• Ensure compliance with industry best practices, budget/timeline, and contractual obligations.
• Serve as an escalation point for project roadblocks, providing guidance and resolution strategies.
• Promote continuous learning and professional development within the project management team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
• Act as the primary liaison for executive-level client communications, ensuring transparency and alignment.
• Manage and negotiate project scope, contracts, and change orders to balance client needs and business objectives.
• Drive stakeholder engagement and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and HR to support company-wide initiatives.
• Assist with resource planning, invoicing, and project financial management.
• Participate in company thought leadership initiatives, including presentations and industry discussions.
• Other duties as assigned.
