Job description

Senior Technical Program Manager, Engineering Strategy & Business Operations
About the Organization

Our client is an established global technology leader operating at the forefront of advanced semiconductor and hardware technologies. Its dedicated engineering and manufacturing organization develops innovative technologies, taking products from early-stage research and development through to high-volume production.

Working across engineering, R&D and manufacturing, the organization is focused on advancing technology, improving manufacturing performance and delivering products that meet demanding standards for reliability, quality, yield, cycle time and cost.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead high-priority strategic initiatives on behalf of the Engineering leadership team. Initially, you will focus on complex programs that cut across Engineering, fabrication and manufacturing, the wider R&D organization, and product teams. You will build a deep understanding of how the organization runs and what leadership cares about most.

This role suits someone who is comfortable with ambiguity. You will be handed loosely defined problems, work out what needs to happen, bring the right people together, shape recommendations, and see the work through to a decision. Success means giving leadership real leverage by taking ownership of work that would otherwise land on their desks.

As the role grows, you will take on wider responsibility for business operations and organizational leadership support, including planning, operating cadence, resource management, and executive-level support.

What You Will Do
  • Lead strategic, cross-functional initiatives that span engineering, manufacturing, R&D, product, and the wider company
  • Own complex, undefined problems: set direction, align stakeholders, and drive decisions and delivery with minimal oversight
  • Turn leadership priorities into clear plans and carry them through to completion
  • Anticipate needs and resolve issues before they require senior leadership time
  • Pull together technical, operational, financial, and organizational information into concise executive presentations and recommendations
  • Identify risks and dependencies early and drive them to resolution
  • Work with leadership on headcount, budget, workforce planning, resource allocation, and operating reviews
  • Support, and over time lead, the leadership team’s operating rhythm: staff meetings, planning cycles, objectives, decisions, and follow-up
  • Coordinate key executive, customer, supplier, and partner engagements
  • Build strong relationships across engineering, manufacturing, R&D, product, finance, and other functions
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in engineering, science, or a related technical field
  • Background in semiconductor development, fabrication, manufacturing, or a comparable technical environment
  • Track record of leading complex initiatives across functions without direct authority
  • Ability to work independently, create structure where none exists, and drive issues to closure
  • Strong strategic thinking, sound business judgment, and a bias for action
  • Experience or clear aptitude in business operations, organizational planning, and resource management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, able to distill complex technical and business inputs into clear executive-level recommendations
  • High emotional intelligence, with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels
  • Strong ownership and discretion, and the ability to move between big-picture thinking and hands-on detail
