Job summary

Viasat seeks a Technical Development Lead - Program Manager to guide multi-disciplinary engineering teams across software, systems, test, and hardware as they execute complex satellite communications programs.

You will lead planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management across geographically distributed teams, ensuring refreshingly clear communication and decisive problem-solving to meet program commitments.

Qualifications

BS in Engineering or equivalent technical degree.
5+ years of Software Development experience.
3+ years of Technical Program Management experience.
Experience leading interdisciplinary teams (Business Development, Systems, Software, Product, Test).
Experience with Agile Kanban, Agile Scrum, and Waterfall lifecycles.
Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence).
Demonstrated cost, schedule, and risk management experience.
Ability to present technical details at an abstracted level.
Ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs simultaneously.
Outstanding communication, decision-making, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams across dispersed locations throughout the program life cycle.
Direct technical program execution through leadership, planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination.
Ensure programs meet key commitments for tactical satellite communication systems.
