Job summary

Blumenthal Performing Arts in Charlotte, NC seeks a Technical Production Manager to lead lighting, audio/visual, electrical, networking and rigging for venues and campuses, ensuring safe, high‑quality shows. Reporting to Production Director, you will oversee events, crews, budgets, equipment coordination, and contract review.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Theater or related field is required.
• 5+ years of experience in technical theater, preferably for a large multi‑theater venue.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Proficiency in lighting or audio and strong coordinating skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise stage/technical crews, interns, and staff for events and activities.
• Provide HR support including payroll, reports, and onboarding.
• Manage fly systems, electrical, audio, video, and rigging.
• Design, source, install, inventory, operate, and service theatrical equipment.
• Meet with clients/vendors to discuss project requirements.
• Assist in budgets, space design, equipment usage, labor needs, schedules, and contracts.
• Support technical needs across theatres and campuses as needed.
• Ensure compliance with policies and safety standards.
• Prepare daily reports, show contracts, rider reviews, and blueprints.
• Follow industry best practices and perform other duties as assigned.
