Job summary

TikTok is seeking a Technical Product Designer/Design Engineer to join the San Jose office and shape end-to-end user experiences. You will translate ideas into prototypes and production-ready designs, implementing them in code to deliver polished interfaces.

You will collaborate with Product and Engineering to translate AI capabilities into developer-friendly experiences, and you will continuously test, iterate, and ship with a strong emphasis on quality and user empathy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, HCI or equivalent.
• A portfolio showcasing strong design principles and understanding of user-centered design.
• 5+ years of experience in product design, UX design, and front-end or full-stack development.
• Proficiency in Figma and modern design workflows; familiar with vibe-coding tools Trae and Cursor.
• Fluent in modern front-end tech, including JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
• Experience with front-end libraries such as MUI, shadcn, Next.js, and Tailwind.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design process from concept to final product.
• Implement designs in code (React, TypeScript, etc.).
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to translate AI capabilities into intuitive experiences.
• Continuously test, learn, and iterate using feedback and data.
• Champion design quality and user empathy.
