You will craft, revise, and maintain agency policies, procedures, and directives to ensure legal compliance, operational feasibility, and alignment with federal, state, and local law.

• Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Government, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional policy research or technical writing.
• Experience drafting or revising formal policies.
• Valid Texas driver's license (upon hire).

Responsabilidades

• Researches, drafts, reviews, and revises Sheriff's Office policies, procedures, general orders, and related directives.
• Interviews and consults with subject-matter experts, supervisors, and leadership to gather information for policy.
• Translates complex legal, regulatory, and operational information into clear policy language.
• Coordinates policy review with Legal Counsel and stakeholders when legal considerations apply.
• Prepares change summaries, briefing documents, and materials for leadership.
• Maintains documentation of policy research, sources, and approvals.
