Job summary

Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (MEEA) seeks a Senior Technical Manager to lead the Building Codes & Policy team. The role focuses on advancing building energy codes, BPS, and related policies across a 13-state region, with a hybrid/remote work model and opportunities for remote candidates.

The position emphasizes technical policy leadership, research, and development of tools, trainings, and resources for code officials, policymakers, and industry stakeholders in the Midwest.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience in energy efficiency, building technologies, energy codes & standards, appliance or equipment performance, sustainability, or related technical areas.
• Strong understanding of energy codes (IECC, ASHRAE 90.1) and building science principles.
• Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including explaining technical findings to non-technical audiences.
• Track record of designing and leading independent technical research.
• Hands-on experience with residential building energy modeling and cost-effectiveness analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver virtual and in-person technical training for code officials, builders, design professionals, utilities, and policymakers across the region.
• Coordinate educational and outreach activities to increase awareness and understanding of building energy policy and programs.
