Job summary

MTA Metro-North Railroad seeks a Technical Supervisor to provide electrical, mechanical, and analytical support for the maintenance of equipment. You will oversee diagnostics for EMU, Diesel, and Push-Pull equipment, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and internal standards.

The role includes supervising agreement staff, supporting maintenance programs, and driving continuous improvement across shops and field operations.

Qualifications

AA in Electrical Engineering or related field required or equivalent experience.
Minimum 3 years repairing/diagnosing EMU, Diesel and Push-Pull Equipment; 2 years on air brakes systems.
Minimum 2 years of experience managing staff and/or projects.

Responsibilities

Provide troubleshooting and analytical skills for EMU, Diesel, and Push-Pull Equipment.
Ensure all equipment released for service meets Federal regulations and Metro North standards.
Oversee test train activities to evaluate performance and document results.
Maintain documentation of repairs, defects, failures and corrective actions.
Guide shop and field personnel in troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
Supervise agreement personnel and support staff development and performance.
