Job summary

Louis Allis is seeking a Technical Manager to lead the engineering and technical function for its medium-voltage motor business. This hands-on role involves application review, design release, AutoCAD drawing control, production support, technical quoting, and issue resolution.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in electric motors or related technical environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred; relevant leadership experience may count.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day engineering and technical operations; set priorities and assign work across Design Engineering, Production Engineering, Quoting, CAD and documentation resources.
• Own application and design engineering for medium-voltage motor repair, rewind, rebuild, replacement and engineered-to-order applications.
• Review and approve technical specifications, drawings, and release packages; maintain standards and documentation control.
• Provide hands-on shop support for teardown findings, winding, machining, assembly, test failures and nonconformances.
• Support Sales and Quoting with technical scope, assumptions, exclusions and risk considerations.
• Serve as senior technical interface for complex applications, site visits, and vendor/customer discussions.
• Drive continuous improvement in release quality, turnaround, and documentation accuracy.
