Job summary

Louis Allis in Warrior, Alabama, seeks a Technical Manager to lead the engineering and technical function for its medium-voltage motor business. The role reports to the President and oversees design review, release, AutoCAD control, and technical quoting to support customer projects.

You will collaborate with Sales, Quoting, Project Management, Design Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, Field Service, and HR to build a responsive, scalable technical function and improve engineering

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in electric motors, motor repair, or engineered-to-order industrial equipment.
• Hands-on experience with motor repair, rewind, design, testing, and manufacturing support.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day engineering and technical operations; set priorities and coordinate departments.
• Review and approve technical specifications, designs, and release packages; maintain standards and templates.
• Provide hands-on shop support for tear-downs, winding, machining, assembly, and test failures; address nonconformances.
• Support Sales and Quoting with technical scope, assumptions, and risk flags for bids.
• Drive continuous improvement, safe production, and proper documentation of technical decisions.
