Job summary

NV Energy seeks a senior software architect to drive the design, development and deployment of business-critical applications. You will lead teams, define architecture strategies, and align technology with enterprise objectives in a fast-paced energy context.

The role requires deep SDLC expertise and hands-on work with .NET, Java and Python, plus Oracle and MS SQL databases. You will collaborate across IT and business units to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in MIS, CS, or related field.
• Ten years of experience in business software design, development, integration and/or installation.
• Expert knowledge of SDLC and enterprise architecture methods.
• Strong programming experience in .NET (C#), Java, or Python.
• Experience with Oracle and MS SQL databases.
• Proven ability to lead software engineers and analysts.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead for highly complex projects from design to deployment.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to staff and analysts.
• Oversee development to ensure performance, interoperability, and secure practices.
• Collaborate with IT and business units to identify technology needs.
• Coordinate planning, analysis, design, testing and documentation activities.
• Maintain adherence to standards and secure development lifecycle policies.
• Stay current with industry practices and implement improvements.
